In many Arab nations, it is customary to pass Bukhoor among the majlis visitors. It is a

gesture of hospitality and the first hint of welcoming in a majlis, so we wanted to explore a specific aspect of the majlis; the importance of Bukhoor. The concept demonstrates the origin of the Bukhoor and how it is made through a step-by-step process which will be included in the exhibition using AR experience, and the user will be immersed in this process. It showcases three different scents which are staples in the Emirati culture, including Oud, Amber, and the Flower of Ta’afy. The experience is based on linear motion and interaction through tapping objects (mainly different majlis doors) for activation. The exhibition starts with Al Sadu carpet rolling, which leads the viewers towards the doors that have elements of making Bukhoor behind them (sandalwood, essential oil & resin). The three essences present behind one door (Oud, Amber & Al Ta’ifi) will allow viewers to choose which scent they want. The entire experience is based on the concept of education, interaction, and creation. It includes 2D & 3D animation, narration, and sound elements to create an immersive environment for viewers.
